June + July Bakes
Scones, cookies, and a toasted flour cake:
Peach Scones that ended up being very very soft! I liked this recipe and would want to make again, one thing I would change is (1) freezing the fruit and (2) incorporating fruit last instead of with all the ingredients, the dough was especially wet this time from the ripe peaches and a little hard to handle :’)
Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe was inspired by this reddit post but this is the recipe I used:

-2 sticks of butter
-190g crisco
-4 eggs
-330 brown sugar
-300 sugar
-2 tsp salt
-2 tsp baking soda
-315 AP
-260 cake flour
-Chocolate chips
The toasted flour chiffon cake from Sift! I replaced chamomile with mugwort and was a little bit sad that I may have overmixed the egg whites because cake was very deflated. Also had not regular milk and used oat milk…could that have been the culprit?! Cake was very yummy and the whipped honey + salt cream was a hit too! Want to reattempt this cake at some point to get the rise!
